Fernando Maresca

I’m an generalist with a background in electronics, software development, sysadmin and related abilities. A long time Linux enthusiast, I’ve advocated it’s use as a general purpose operating system for businesses when MS-DOS, NT and Novell Netware dominated the landscape around me. This changed my career and my life around 1999 when broadband Internet became available here and I’ve got the opportunity to learn from the best programmers and FOSS projects.

My skills are systems integration, inter-operation of diverse systems, communication protocols conversions, data scrapping, fast prototyping/scripting for concept validation, system administration, service management. This includes knowledge about several legacy and current technologies across communications, industry and IT.

I’ve worked in every technical position since my teens as electrician, mechanic, electronics technician, sysadmin, software developer, CTO, consultant and technology advisor for several business.

I have good communications skills in oral and write forms, and I consider myself a competent worker, member and team leader, and I tend to own the projects I’m working on.

I’ve worked for several years in the electronic security business in a demanding 24/7 service environment. I’m comfortable with mission critical systems.

Here’s my CV.
